After overcoming a week of rain postponements, Monday night, the Blue Jays won the 10U championship with a 14 - 3 win over the Cardinals. Coming off there exciting game one come from behind win last Thursday night, Blue Jays hurlers V. Cucci and J. Pelinkovic again combined for a five hitter over six innings, to quiet the Cardinals bats.
V. Cucci got the Blue Jays scoring started in the top of the first with a double off the center field wall to drive in the games first two runs. B. Mastropietro who went 4 -4 continued the rally, driving in the first of her game high five RBI’s, and C. Steakin who was 1 -2 with 2 RBI’s was hit by a pitch to bring in the fourth run of the inning.
The Blue Jays infield played outstanding defense all game long. B. Rodriguez, N. McPartland, and V. Ianniello were each responsible for turning inning ending plays. As was pitcher J. Pelikovic who double off a Cardinals runner in the bottom of the fifth to end another scoring threat.
With the win, first year Blue Jays head coach Tony Cucci and coaches: Michael Ianniello Lum Pelinkovic , Rich Mastropietro, and Eddie McPartland completed what was indeed a magical season. Finishing with a record of 17 - 4 was amazing in and of it self, but nothing made us all happier than seeing our kids celebrate on the field after the final out. Their dedication and commitment to the team is what made it a special group of young ladies to be around all year long. After the game the sparkling apple cider poured and all the Blue Jays received their Championship trophies on the field from Pelham Bay league President Vinny Prestopino.

Thursday nights game one of the 10U Championship Series had all the excitement of a heavyweight boxing match. Both the Blue Jays and Cardinals exchanged blows back and forth for six innings in what shaped up to be a classic match up between two division powerhouses.
Blue Jays Hurler V. Cucci got the win pitching four strong innings with J. Pelinkovic coming in for the last two, locking down the save.
The Cardinals were leading 10 to 9 going into the bottom of the sixth inning. With one out, Blue Jays second baseman V. Ianniello stepped to the plate and drove a base hit to left field. V. Cucci then tied the game when she doubled off the right center field wall driving in Ianniello. B. Rodriguez followed with a base hit to left field, sending Cucci to third base setting up the winning run for J. Pelinkovic who delivered the game winning hit to left field driving in Cucci for the 11 - 10 victory.

The 1st place Blue Jays defeated the Eagles, 13 - 0 in the opening round of the 2009 10U playoffs. Blue Jays Starting Pitcher J. Pelinkovic completely shut down the Eagles hitters for four innings pitching a one hit shutout on her way to her 7th win of the season.
The powerful Blue Jays line-up scored early and often for their 8th run rule victory of the year.

Monday Night in a rain make-up game at Colucci Field the Blue Jays won the 10U Division title by defeating the Ravens 18 - 3, in a forfeit exhibition game. The win secured first place for the Blue Jays who end the regular season schedule at 14 - 4. The Game Ball went to C. Steakin who made an outstanding catch in RF to end a Raven rally in the top of the sixth inning. The Blue Jays power surge came from the middle of its line-up where V. Cucci went 3-3 with three doubles and drove in 4 runs. J. Pelinkovic went 3-3 with a single, a triple, and a home run, and 4 RBIs, and B. Mastropietro who went 3-3, with a double and two singles, and drove in 3 RBIs.
Manager T. Cucci and the entire Blue Jays coaching staff is so proud of each and everyone of his players and would like to congratulate them on winning their division championship.

Blue Jays hurler V. Cucci struck out seven and walked five as she tossed her first ever no-hitter to lead her team to a convincing 14 -1 victory over division rivals the Ravens Saturday afternoon in the final regular season game of the year. The win moves the Blue Jays to 13 - 4 on the season. The 14 runs were all scored by different players in a complete team effort. The run rule victory is the seventh of this season by the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays improved their record to 12 -4 with a 13 -9 victory against the Eagles. Blue Jays Starter B. Rodriguez went 5 innings and improved to 2 and 1 with a gutsy pitching performance to shut down the new look Eagles.

Blue Jays Pitcher V. CUCCI allowed only 4 runs on 8 hits over 5 innings striking out 7 and walking only 3 Saturday afternoon to beat the Cardinals 10 - 4. In the bottom of the third inning left fielder N. McPartland made a sparkling play, catching a scorching line drive and then throwing a runner out at third base for a double play. V. Cucci also had a double and two singles drove in two runs and scored twice. B. Mastropietro went two for 3 and drove in three runs. B. Rodriguez one for two drove in a run and scored once. N. McPartland, V. Ianniello, J. Guarino and C. Steakin had an RBI each.

Terrific fielding and strong starting pitching from J. Pelinkovic who threw a one hitter had six strikeouts and four walks was just what the Blue Jays needed to defeat the Ravens 12 - 2.

Blue Jays starting pitcher B. Rodriguez, got her first win of the season to beat the Eagles,11-0. Third baseman J.Guarino made two outstanding defensive plays to keep the Eagles from scoring, went 2-2 and drove in 2 runs. B. Rodriguez also went 2-2 and drove in 4 RBI’s. V. Ianniello went 3-3. V. Cucci went 2-2 with 2 RBI’s, and N. McPartland, A. Carrasquillo, J. Von Kessel had 1 RBI each. Catcher B. Mastropietro also made a great tag out at home plate to keep the Eagles from scoring in the bottom of the forth inning.

Pitcher V. CUCCI received plenty of run support, timely power hitting, and terrific defense as the Blue Jays beat the Ravens, 15 - 3, Sunday.

The Blue Jays lead the Cardinals 10 to 5 going into the top of the 6th inning, when the Cardinals rallied back to beat the Blue Jays 16 - 14.

Blue Jays - Ravens game was rained out
The Blue Jays played what amounted to an exhibition game against the Eagles who forfeited the game do to a shortage of players. The practice game was won by the Blue Jays squad 8-6 in a time shortened contest.
Blue Jays starting pitcher V. Cucci, won a rain make-up game against the Ravens at Colucci Park. Down by two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning V. Cucci led off with a double and was driven in by B. Rodriguez who had a two base hit of her own to tie the game at 9. J. Pelinkovic then doubled in the game winning run for the victory 10-9.
Saturday, “Picture Day” was bittersweet for the Blue Jays, who lost a heartbreaker to their conference rivals, the Cardinals, 7 to 6, in a five inning time shortened contest. V. Cucci drove in two runs, and pitched another complete game gem. Teammates V. Ianniello , B. Rodriguez , B. Mastropietro, J. Pelinkovic, J. Guarino and N. McPartland also drove in runs.
Sunday, the Blue Jays bounced back with and exciting 13 to 5 victory over the Eagles. J. Pelinkovic now (2-0) turned in a sterling pitching performance and made the key fielding play to start a triple-play to end the fourth inning. The win was a total team effort with runs being drive in by N. McPartland, V. Ianniello, V. Cucci, B. Rodriguez, J. Pelinkovic, M. McCormack, J. Von Kessel, and K. Parchen.
